BOSTON — A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old were arrested early Thursday morning after allegedly breaking into the Snowport Holiday Market in South Boston, marking the second night of reported theft at the seasonal venue.
Officers assigned to District C-6 responded to a 911 call at 1:49 a.m. reporting a breaking and entering in progress. Police were already patrolling the area after a previous night’s burglary at the same location, during which money was stolen.
The officers observed two individuals in dark clothing near Seaport Common before the suspects fled through a hole in a fence into the holiday market. Private security personnel detained the pair, prompting a second 911 call for police assistance.
An investigation conducted by officers and detectives linked the juveniles to both incidents. A “significant amount” of U.S. currency, believed to be stolen, was recovered in their possession, according to police.
The juveniles are scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of trespassing, breaking and entering a building at night for a felony, receiving stolen property, and larceny from a building.
