Brooklyn shooting leaves two dead in early morning attack

NEW YORK — A man and a woman were shot and killed early Tuesday morning in Brooklyn, authorities said.

Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 7:32 a.m. and found two victims with gunshot wounds to the head in front of 1345 Jefferson Avenue in the 83rd Precinct.

The victims were identified as Gabriel Sanchez, 41, of Jefferson Avenue, and Celina Ramos, 32, of Kent Avenue. Sanchez was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Woodhull, where he was pronounced dead. Ramos was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and was also pronounced dead.

A firearm was recovered at the scene, but no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing.
