POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – A Poughkeepsie man is in custody after a drug task force investigation led to the seizure of cocaine and methamphetamine at his residence on Garden Street, authorities said.
The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit (SWAT), executed a search warrant on February 27 at the home of Orlando Peterson III, 55. Investigators had previously made multiple narcotics purchases from Peterson before obtaining the warrant, officials said.
Peterson was taken into custody without incident and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a Class B felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony.
He was arraigned in City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
