ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A wanted man linked to a February gunpoint robbery was arrested Friday after Atlantic City detectives stopped a vehicle and discovered a loaded handgun inside.

Detectives conducting surveillance on the 500 block of Wabash Avenue at 2:04 p.m. on Friday identified Isa Salaam as he exited a residence and got into the passenger side of a vehicle driven by Jailene Williams. The team of Detectives Eric Evans, Moustafa Maarouf, Troy Grams, and Jesse Oliver-Logan stopped the vehicle shortly after it departed.
As Salaam exited the car, detectives quickly took him into custody without incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a loaded handgun, a small amount of ecstasy, and hollow-point ammunition. Police also noted the weapon was defaced, a criminal offense under state law.
Arrest details and charges
Salaam, 22, of Atlantic City, was wanted for allegedly participating in a robbery in February during which the suspects reportedly assaulted and robbed a man at gunpoint. He now faces multiple charges including robbery, aggravated assault, theft, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a defaced firearm.
Williams, 27, also of Atlantic City, was arrested at the scene. She has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a defaced firearm, and possession of CDS. Authorities released her on a summons pending a future court date.
The Atlantic City Police Department emphasized that these charges are accusations and both individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. Police continue to investigate the incident.
