EMS transported the victim to Wyckoff Hospital, where she was treated and listed in stable condition. Police said the employee was conscious and alert when emergency responders arrived.

NYPD investigating unprovoked assault on transit worker

The assault marks another instance of violence against transit employees, a growing concern for transit authorities and unions alike. Investigators are treating the case as an unprovoked assault and are working to determine whether the suspect had any prior contact with the victim.

“The unidentified individual fled the location on foot to parts unknown,” police stated in a report of the incident.

Transit officials have not yet commented on the case, and it is unclear whether the employee has returned to work following the incident. The NYPD is urging anyone with information about the suspect to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline.
