NEW YORK — Two players in different corners of the state each won $16,704 after matching all five numbers in the May 8 TAKE 5 Evening drawing, according to the New York Lottery.

The winning tickets were sold at AMA Liquors, located at 3215 Church Avenue in Brooklyn, and Say Cheese Pizza, located at 1771 Love Road in Grand Island. Each top-prize ticket matched all five numbers drawn and will pay out the same amount.

TAKE 5 drawings occur twice daily, at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., with numbers selected from a field of 1 through 39. The game continues to produce regular winners across the state, with prizes varying based on the number of winning tickets and total sales for each draw.

Retailers rewarded as TAKE 5 continues daily payouts statewide

The retailers that sold the winning tickets—AMA Liquors in Brooklyn and Say Cheese Pizza in Grand Island—will each receive a bonus from the New York Lottery for selling a top-prize ticket.

This latest win continues a pattern of frequent TAKE 5 payouts in both urban and suburban areas, reinforcing the game’s appeal to players across New York.

The New York Lottery remains North America’s highest-grossing lottery system, contributing $3.8 billion during the 2023–2024 fiscal year to support public education throughout the state.
