WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A Connecticut Lottery player is celebrating a major win after purchasing a Lucky for Life ticket worth $390,000 for the May 8 drawing.
The winning ticket was sold at Turnpike Package Store in Windsor Locks. The ticket matched five numbers but not the Lucky Ball, earning the second-highest prize available in the game — $25,000 a year for life, which is typically paid out as a $390,000 lump sum.
Lucky for Life is a multi-state game offering two lifetime prize tiers: $1,000 a day for life for the top prize and $25,000 a year for life for the second-tier prize. Drawings are held nightly.
Turnpike Package Store credited for selling winning ticket
Turnpike Package Store will receive a retailer bonus from the Connecticut Lottery for selling the winning ticket. The winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize.
The Connecticut Lottery has not released the name of the winner as of Friday. Players are encouraged to sign the back of their tickets and store them safely until they can be claimed.
