WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 17-year-old boy and two men were hospitalized after gunfire erupted early Sunday in the 1900 block of 9th Street NW, just steps from the U Street corridor.
Around 2:57 a.m. on May 11, officers on patrol in the area heard multiple shots and quickly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The teenager sustained serious injuries, while both men were reported to have non-life-threatening wounds.
Shooting among four incidents reported overnight in the District
Police have not determined whether the victims knew each other, and no arrests have been made as of Sunday morning. No suspect descriptions have been released.
This shooting was one of four violent incidents reported across the District in the early hours of Sunday, with separate shootings around midnight and another at 3:30 a.m. on H Street NW, where two additional people were wounded.
