MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Myrtle Beach Police Department has arrested three individuals on firearm-related charges as part of a broader investigation connected to criminal activity surrounding the April 26 shooting on Ocean Boulevard, though the arrests are not directly tied to the shooting itself.
On Tuesday, May 20, Myrtle Beach police executed search warrants at three separate residences. The following morning, with the assistance of the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office, Bennettsville Police Department, and Clio Police Department, two additional warrants were served in Bennettsville, South Carolina, resulting in the arrest of one individual.
A third warrant was executed in Laurinburg, North Carolina, where a second suspect was taken into custody with assistance from the Laurinburg Police Department. A fourth arrest was made in High Point, North Carolina, with support from the High Point Police Department.
All three individuals arrested face firearm-related charges. Investigators also recovered firearms and other evidence during the operations.
Ongoing investigation
These arrests come after weeks of investigation into events occurring before and after the April 26 Ocean Boulevard shooting. Myrtle Beach police say additional individuals have been identified as being connected to the broader criminal activity associated with that timeframe.
“As this remains an active investigation and some of the charges involve juveniles, further details will be released as permitted under state law,” the department stated.
Authorities continue to urge anyone with information to contact the Myrtle Beach Police Department at 843-918-1382.
