Woman, 64, punched in the face during dispute outside Brooklyn business

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 64-year-old woman was punched in the face Sunday evening outside a commercial building on Utica Avenue during a dispute with an unidentified man, police said.

The incident occurred around 7:58 p.m. as the woman was exiting a business at 795 Utica Ave. in Brooklyn. According to investigators, an unknown individual approached the woman and engaged in a verbal altercation before striking her in the face with a closed fist.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot, heading northbound along Utica Avenue. Authorities said his whereabouts remain unknown.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County. She sustained minor facial injuries and was listed in stable condition, police said.

The suspect is described as a male last seen wearing a black shirt, blue sweatpants, and white sneakers.

Police seek public’s help in locating suspect

As of Thursday, no arrests have been made. Police are continuing their investigation and reviewing area surveillance footage.

The motive behind the altercation remains unclear. Authorities have not indicated whether the suspect and victim knew each other prior to the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the NYPD as the investigation continues.
