CUMBERLAND, Md. — A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly storming into a bedroom and repeatedly stabbing another resident during a heated dispute over loud music, leaving the victim with multiple knife wounds and sparking an attempted murder investigation.
The Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 300 block of Woodside Avenue on June 24 following reports of an assault. Before officers arrived, the victim had already been transported to a medical facility with serious injuries.
At the scene, police encountered Jason Warren Allen Wormack, 38, who had visible bloodstains on his clothing. He was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators say the argument began when the victim complained about loud music. Wormack then allegedly entered the victim’s room and began attacking with a knife. The victim managed to escape and seek help.
Suspect Held on Multiple Felony Charges
Wormack was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center and is being held pending his Initial Appearance. He faces multiple charges, including attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
Authorities have not released the current condition of the victim.
