PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Philadelphia Police Department has issued a request to all news outlets operating aerial units near an active barricade situation on the 7000 block of Tulip Street, urging immediate repositioning to ensure officer and public safety.
In a statement released by the department’s Office of Public Affairs, Officer Tanya Little said that helicopter activity is “significantly impeding the ongoing police operation and poses a serious safety concern.”
The incident remains active, with tactical teams on the ground. Police emphasized that media coverage is appreciated but must not interfere with the integrity of the response.
Safety prioritized during ongoing police operation
“We are requesting that all media helicopters immediately reposition and maintain a greater distance from the scene,” the statement said, citing the need to avoid interference with tactical operations.
No additional details about the barricade situation have been released as the investigation continues.
