WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 25-year-old man has been arrested after a victim was shot during an armed robbery near 7th and H Street NW in Chinatown last month, police announced Monday.
First District officers responded around 4:14 p.m. on May 24 to reports of gunfire. At the scene, they found evidence of a shooting but no victim. Investigators determined two suspects had approached a person, demanded property at gunpoint, and fired a shot before fleeing.
A short time later, officers located the victim several blocks away with injuries described as non-life-threatening, and he was transported to an area hospital.
On Sunday, police arrested Kemoni Ware of Washington, D.C., on a DC Superior Court warrant. Ware is charged with armed robbery while armed with a gun.
