OCEAN COUNTY, N.J. — The Friends of Northern Ocean County Animal Facility is searching for a 501(c)(3) rescue group to help rehome Kenny, an energetic 18-month-old black Labrador retriever currently at the shelter.
Staff described Kenny as handsome, friendly, and playful, but noted he needs guidance and training to address mild resource guarding. Kenny did well during his dog introduction, though his enthusiasm and lack of manners may overwhelm more timid dogs. He also showed no issues with cats.
Kenny is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped, making him ready for immediate placement with an approved rescue partner.
The shelter highlighted recent adoptions and rescues but emphasized that the list of dogs still in need, including Kenny, remains long.
Rescue groups urged to contact facility
Approved organizations able to help Kenny can email [email protected] for more details.
The shelter encourages the community to share Kenny’s story to find the right rescue fit.
