Rideshare driver robbed at knifepoint in East New York, suspect at large

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed a rideshare driver at knifepoint in broad daylight last month in East New York.

The incident occurred around 12:32 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, near the intersection of Wyona Street and Glenmore Avenue. According to the NYPD, a 32-year-old male rideshare driver was approached by an unknown individual who placed a knife to the back of his neck.

The suspect forcibly took $70 from the victim and then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and was last seen wearing a pink headband, a black long-haired wig, a black long-sleeve shirt, green jeans, and white sneakers.
