Nutley police investigate July 4 early morning shooting on Passaic Avenue

NUTLEY, N.J. — Police in Nutley are investigating an early morning shooting that occurred Friday on Passaic Avenue, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the incident happened at approximately 2:25 a.m. between Conover Avenue and Hancox Avenue. Investigators say suspects fired at the victim from a light-colored vehicle before fleeing southbound on Passaic Avenue.

The Nutley Police Department’s Detective Bureau is actively investigating the incident. No injuries or arrests have been reported.

“This incident is actively being investigated,” the department stated on social media. “There is no threat to the general public at this time.”

Officials described the event as an isolated incident involving only the parties directly connected.
