Maryland man busted for girlfriend’s murder after Landover shooting

LANDOVER, Md. — A 32-year-old man has been charged with killing his girlfriend after a shooting inside a Landover apartment Saturday afternoon, Prince George’s County Police said.

Officers responded around 3:35 p.m. to the 700 block of Stretford Way, where they found 29-year-old Sharita Cristwell dead from gunshot wounds.

Investigators said the suspect, Harry Lindsey of Landover, fled the scene but was tracked down with the help of Metro Transit Police surveillance footage. The department’s Fugitive Unit arrested him Sunday morning in Capitol Heights.

Detectives believe Lindsey shot Cristwell during an argument inside the apartment. He is charged with first- and second-degree murder and is being held without bond.
