WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 3-year-old girl was critically injured early Saturday when gunfire struck a parked vehicle in Southeast, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded around 3:03 a.m. to the 1000 block of 14th Street Southeast after reports of shots fired and found the child with a gunshot wound to the upper body.
She was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Investigators believe at least one suspect fired multiple shots on the block, hitting the parked car where the girl was seated with family members.
