Construction site crook busted after DC burglary spree

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with multiple burglary offenses targeting construction sites in the District, the Metropolitan Police Department announced Sunday.

Gregory Greene of Southeast D.C. was taken into custody on Friday, July 4, after officers responded to a burglary in progress at a construction site in the 1000 block of 3rd Street, Southwest. Greene was apprehended while allegedly attempting to flee with stolen property.

Police linked Greene to another burglary that occurred between June 20 and June 23, when a suspect forcibly entered a separate construction site and removed property before fleeing.

He has been charged with two counts of Burglary Two.
