Girl, 13, charged after armed robbery attempt and knife threat in downtown Baltimore

A 13-year-old girl was arrested Friday night after allegedly attempting to steal alcohol from a downtown Baltimore store and threatening employees with a knife, police said.

Central District officers responded to the 200 block of East Baltimore Street around 8:30 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery in progress, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Investigators said the girl entered the business, poured two bottles of alcohol into a container, and tried to leave without paying. A confrontation with store employees followed, during which the suspect damaged store property and pulled a knife, threatening to stab the staff.

She was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation before being transported to the Juvenile Justice Center, where she was processed and charged.

“A 13-year-old female entered the location, poured two bottles of Alcohol into a container and attempted to leave the establishment,” police stated.
