Man shot during armed robbery in Chesapeake trailer, police say

An early morning shooting on Thursday left one man injured after a reported home invasion at a trailer in Chesapeake, according to city police.

Officers responded to the 1100 block of S. Military Highway around 1:37 a.m. after receiving reports of a gunshot wound victim. On arrival, police found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Chesapeake Regional Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Witnesses told officers that several individuals were inside the trailer when someone knocked on the door. When one of the occupants answered, three Black males wearing ski masks entered the residence and demanded money.

One of the suspects then fired four to five rounds, striking the victim twice, according to statements provided at the scene.

A search of the area did not result in any arrests. The investigation remains active.

Police are continuing to seek information about the suspects involved in the shooting.
