A 27-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police found him unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle stopped in the middle of a Jackson Township intersection Sunday night.
At approximately 9:39 p.m. on June 1, officers from the Jackson Township Police Department responded to a report of a man unconscious in a white work vehicle at the intersection of Whitesville Road and South Hope Chapel Road. According to police, the vehicle was still in drive when Officer Rodina arrived on scene.
Rodina opened the driver-side door, shifted the vehicle into park, and turned it off. After administering several sternum rubs, the driver regained consciousness.
Officers observed multiple open alcohol containers in the vehicle. The driver refused to complete field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
He was transported to Jackson Police Department for processing and later released with multiple motor vehicle summonses.
