Burglar swipes $60K in cash and jewelry from Staten Island home, flees in silver Lexus

Police are searching for a masked burglar who broke into a Staten Island residence early Sunday morning and made off with more than $60,000 in cash and jewelry, the NYPD said.

The break-in occurred around 4:45 a.m. near Wooddale Avenue and Elmhurst Avenue, according to investigators. The suspect entered the home through a side door and removed a safe containing approximately $30,000 worth of jewelry and about $30,100 in cash.

The suspect then fled the scene in a silver Lexus sedan, heading northbound on Todt Hill Road. No injuries were reported.

The individual is described as a male last seen wearing a black ski mask, black sweatshirt, white gloves, gray sweatpants, and gray sneakers.
