Gunfire exchanged during home invasion in West Philly, suspects flee on foot

PHILADELPHIA — Southwest Detectives are investigating a home invasion in the city’s 18th District after three armed suspects exchanged gunfire with a resident Tuesday morning before fleeing the scene.

The incident occurred around 7:55 a.m. on the 5300 block of Ludlow Street, when three Black males dressed in all black forcibly entered a private residence. According to police, the suspects were armed with firearms and confronted a resident inside the home.

An exchange of gunfire followed. No injuries were reported, and no property was taken. The suspects fled westbound on foot.

Police are holding the scene as the investigation continues. No arrests have been made, and no additional information on the suspects has been released.
