PASADENA, CA — Los Angeles County prosecutors have charged Muhammad Abdul-Malik, 38, and Teraeja Flemmings, 31, in connection with the fatal shooting of 13-year-old Iran Moreno, who was killed while playing video games in his Pasadena home in November 2021.

Abdul-Malik is charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, with an allegation that he personally discharged the weapon. Flemmings is charged with one count of murder. Prosecutors allege Abdul-Malik fired a single shot from a vacant lot across the street, which struck Moreno through a window. He then fled in a vehicle allegedly driven by Flemmings.

The District Attorney’s Office is requesting $3 million bail for Abdul-Malik and $2 million for Flemmings. Abdul-Malik remains in custody in Florida awaiting extradition. Flemmings is scheduled to be arraigned July 21 at the Pasadena Courthouse.
