Utica woman charged in domestic stabbing on Ash Street

UTICA, N.Y. — A 26-year-old woman has been arrested and charged following a domestic stabbing incident Thursday night in the 1100 block of Ash Street, Utica Police said.

Officers and fire units responded to the scene around 10:00 p.m., where they found a female victim with a laceration to her arm. The injury was allegedly caused by the victim’s sister, Monaya Blanco, during a dispute.

The victim was transported to Wynn Hospital for treatment, while Blanco was taken into custody at the scene.

She has been charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
