GALLOWAY TWP., N.J. — The Galloway Township Junior Police Academy concluded its sixth session this week, capping off five days of interactive law enforcement training with a graduation ceremony held Thursday.
The program, which hosted young recruits from the community, featured demonstrations and activities including fingerprinting, handcuffing, defensive tactics, and two live exhibitions from the Atlantic City Bomb Squad. The final day also included a helicopter landing by the New Jersey State Police.
“We proudly held our graduation today, where four outstanding recruits were recognized with top awards for their leadership, dedication, and performance throughout the week,” the department said on Facebook.
Instructors and guest agencies worked alongside local volunteers to deliver the hands-on experience, designed to introduce students to the basics of police work. Families and spectators gathered throughout the week, especially during the high-impact demonstrations.
This marks the sixth class to complete the annual summer program.
