New Jersey Democrats Blame GOP for The Energy Crisis they Created

New Jersey’s energy crisis is spiraling, and Democrats pointing fingers at Republicans, President Trump, or gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli won’t fix it. They won’t even acknowledge the truth.

They created thiss.

The numbers don’t lie: a 14% energy rate hike in 2024 followed by a staggering 20% increase slated for 2025. These are not random misfortunes—they’re the direct result of Governor Phil Murphy’s flawed energy policies, cheered on by the state’s Democratic leadership, including Senator Cory Booker, Representative Andy Kim, and Representative Mikie Sherrill.

It’s time for accountability.

For years, New Jersey Democrats have pushed an aggressive green energy agenda, banking heavily on offshore wind projects that have underdelivered. Billions of taxpayer dollars have been poured into wind farms that are either stalled, over budget, or failing to produce promised results. The state’s energy grid, meanwhile, struggles to keep up with demand, driving up costs for residents already burdened by high taxes and living expenses.

Murphy’s administration championed these initiatives, and Democratic lawmakers stood by, applauding, as the state bet big on unproven technologies without a robust backup plan.

Blaming Republicans or Trump is a tired deflection. The last time Trump was in office, New Jersey’s energy policy was still a state matter, and Ciattarelli hasn’t been governor to influence it. This mess is homegrown, rooted in years of overpromising and underdelivering on renewable energy while neglecting practical solutions to stabilize costs and supply.

The failure of wind projects isn’t just a policy misstep—it’s a financial disaster that’s hitting New Jerseyans’ wallets hard.Booker, Kim, and Sherrill, among others, have been vocal supporters of Murphy’s vision.

They’ve touted the green agenda while sidestepping the mounting evidence of its shortcomings. Now, as families brace for another punishing rate hike, their attempts to shift blame look disingenuous. Leadership means owning the problem, not dodging it.New Jersey deserves better. Democrats must stop pretending this crisis isn’t theirs.

time for a clear, pragmatic energy plan—one that balances renewable ambitions with reliable, affordable power. No more excuses, no more scapegoats. The state’s residents are watching, and they’re paying the price for your failures. Do better.
