Cops hunt for VW that smashed through Sprague park

SPRAGUE, CT — A Volkswagen sedan that smashed through a fence at River Park early Friday morning is now the focus of a state police investigation.

According to the Sprague Resident Trooper, the incident occurred on July 18 at approximately 12:25 a.m., when a Volkswagen Jetta or Passat entered River Park and struck the rail fence before fleeing the scene. The vehicle is believed to have sustained front-end damage, especially on the front passenger side.

Troopers are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver to contact TFC Sumner #743 at Troop E by calling 860-848-6500.
