J Train Robbery Leaves Man Beaten with Wallet, ID Cards, Debit Card Stolen

BROOKLYN — A 26-year-old man was attacked and robbed while riding a southbound J train near the Cleveland Street station on Friday afternoon, police said.

The incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. as the train approached the station. According to police, the victim was approached by three unidentified individuals who began arguing with him before punching him multiple times in the face and forcibly taking his wallet, which contained several forms of ID and a debit card.

The suspects exited the train at Cleveland Street and fled on foot to an unknown location. The victim was taken by EMS to Interfaith Medical Center in stable condition with minor injuries.

One individual being sought is described as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a black and yellow football jersey.

Police have not announced any arrests. The investigation remains ongoing.
