Off-duty FDNY EMT arrested in Queens on strangulation charge

NEW YORK — An off-duty FDNY emergency medical technician was arrested Monday night in Queens and charged with strangulation, police said.

Romario Parchment, 30, was taken into custody at 8:41 p.m. within the confines of the 116th Precinct. He was off duty at the time of the incident.

Parchment is employed as an EMT with the New York City Fire Department. Authorities did not provide details about the circumstances leading to the arrest.

He faces a single charge of strangulation.

The FDNY has not commented on the arrest.
