Cape May Court House, NJ – A 48-year-old man from the Villas section of Lower Township was arrested Friday following a multi-agency drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of heroin, crack cocaine, and cash, authorities announced.
Darryl Jones was taken into custody on August 15 after the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force executed court-authorized search warrants on his residence and person. The investigation was carried out in coordination with the DEA, Lower Township Police Department, and the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team.
During the search, officers recovered approximately 100 bags of heroin, over one-half ounce of crack cocaine, drug distribution paraphernalia, and about $1,300 in cash.
Jones now faces multiple charges including:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute More Than One Half Ounce of Cocaine (Second Degree)
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Less Than One Half Ounce of Heroin (Third Degree)
- Possession of CDS within 500 Feet of a Public Place (Second Degree)
- Possession of Cocaine (Third Degree)
- Possession of Heroin (Third Degree)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Fourth Degree)
- Money Laundering (Third Degree)
He was processed and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility, where he remains pending court proceedings.
Under New Jersey law, a conviction on second-degree charges can result in five to ten years in state prison.
The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the operation reflects continued efforts to suppress drug distribution in the region through joint agency enforcement.
