Lancaster, PA – A 59-year-old Allentown woman has been sentenced to state prison after pleading guilty to her sixth lifetime DUI, authorities said.
Carla A. Bartell was sentenced August 4 to 16 months to seven years for driving under the influence along eastbound Route 30 near Route 222 in September 2024. The sentence will run consecutively to an 18-month term she is serving for a parole violation from a prior DUI in Lehigh County, in accordance with Deana’s Law.
Bartell pleaded guilty in May to four DUI counts, two drug offenses, and two summary traffic violations. Police said she was impaired by both alcohol and marijuana when she was stopped for erratic driving. Officers found more than 12 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and discovered her vehicle registration was expired.
According to court records, Bartell has previous DUI convictions in Lehigh County from 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2019, as well as in Carbon County in 2014.
Assistant District Attorney Kyle Linardo prosecuted the case, and Manheim Township Police Sgt. Randy Nolt filed the charges.
