WEST MIFFLIN, PA – A late-night welfare check ended with one man dead and another hospitalized after a violent altercation inside a Thompson Run Road home Friday night.
Allegheny County 9-1-1 received the call at 10:45 p.m., prompting a response from local first responders.
Inside the home, police discovered one man dead and another injured but conscious.
Allegheny County Police said the two men were involved in a physical fight prior to the arrival of emergency personnel. The deceased victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second man was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition with laceration injuries. Neither individual has been publicly identified as of Saturday.
The Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and is coordinating with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether any criminal charges will be filed. Authorities said all individuals involved in the incident are accounted for and there is no active threat to the public.
