Two Luzerne County lottery players win $450K in Cash 5 jackpots over weekend
MIDDLETOWN, PA – Two Pennsylvania Lottery players in Luzerne County are holding jackpot-winning tickets from consecutive Cash 5 with Quick Cash drawings, combining for $450,000 in prizes.
The first winning ticket, worth $300,000, was sold on Friday, August 15, at Gerrity’s Supermarket, 2280 Sans Souci Parkway in Hanover Township. The winning numbers were 8-18-28-29-37. The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the ticket.
The following night, Saturday, August 16, a $150,000 winning ticket was sold at Beer O’ Clock, 485 Scott Street in Wilkes-Barre. That ticket matched the numbers 2-15-28-37-43. Beer O’ Clock will also earn a $500 bonus.
The Pennsylvania Lottery said more than 16,900 other Cash 5 with Quick Cash tickets won smaller prizes across both drawings. Jackpot prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing date, while Quick Cash prizes must be claimed within one year of purchase.
Winners are not known until tickets are claimed and validated. Players holding winning tickets are encouraged to contact the Pennsylvania Lottery office or call 1-800-692-7481 for instructions.
