Man arrested after robbing woman at gunpoint outside Glen Burnie bank

Glen Burnie, MD — A Baltimore man is facing robbery charges after allegedly holding up a woman with a replica handgun outside a Bank of America ATM in Glen Burnie Saturday morning and then attempting to rob another victim minutes later, police said.

Rasheed Marquis Jackson, 28, was arrested after Anne Arundel County Police responded to a report of a robbery around 9:50 a.m. in the 7200 block of Ritchie Highway. A 27-year-old woman told officers she had just withdrawn cash when Jackson approached her, showed a handgun, and demanded money. The woman ran, but Jackson caught up and took her cash and cell phone before fleeing.

While police were still on scene, a second attempted robbery was reported just a few blocks away. A suspect matching Jackson’s description had tried to open a vehicle door in the ATM drive-thru at another bank location in the 7400 block of Ritchie Highway. The victim was able to drive away safely.

Officers quickly located Jackson, who was found carrying a replica firearm along with the first victim’s cash and phone. He was arrested without incident and charged with robbery and attempted robbery.
