Newark police searching for Irvington man wanted for questioning in armed robbery

NEWARK, NJ – Detectives are asking for the public’s help to locate a 41-year-old Irvington man wanted for questioning in connection with a July 30 armed robbery on Springfield Avenue.

Authorities say the robbery happened around 7 p.m. in the 300 block of Springfield Avenue. A woman told police she was confronted by a man driving a white vehicle with tinted windows. The suspect allegedly ordered her to enter his vehicle, then pulled a gun and stole her beige MCM cross-body purse. The bag contained $1,500 in cash, a credit card, her New Jersey driver’s license, and other personal belongings.

Investigators have identified Dawud N. Hardy, described as 5’9” tall and 220 pounds, as a person they want to question about the robbery.
