Dog with soulful eyes ready to leave shelter life behind
JACKSON, NJ – A 2-year-old dog named Coco is still waiting to meet her match at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility, where staff describe her as a sweet and playful companion ready to be someone’s one and only.
Believed to be a pit bull and shepherd mix, Coco is medium-sized with soulful eyes that staff say “melt hearts.” While shy at first, she quickly warms up and shows her affectionate, ball-chasing personality. She walks well on a leash, is food-motivated, and already knows basic commands like “sit” and “down.”
Coco is best suited as the only pet in her new home, and shelter staff note that dogs in this category often wait longer to be adopted. She would thrive in a quieter home with children over 15 who understand her space needs.

Fully spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, Coco is available for adoption daily between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility, located at 615 Freemont Avenue in Jackson.
