Egg Harbor Township police log more than 70 arrests in two-week span
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ – Police in Egg Harbor Township released their blotter for August 1 through August 15, showing nearly 2,800 calls for service and more than 70 arrests during the two-week period.
Officers reported 628 motor vehicle stops, 87 crashes, 237 EMS calls, and nine arrests for driving while intoxicated. Police also responded to 23 domestic violence calls and logged over 800 property checks.
Among the arrests:
- August 1: Multiple people were taken into custody on outstanding warrants, including residents from Atlantic City, Manchester, Mays Landing, and Egg Harbor Township. That same day, Nasir Turner of Atlantic City was arrested on charges including assault, threats, and multiple weapons offenses.
- August 3: Several DUI arrests were made, including Pedro Lopez and Juan Britopena, while Mauricio Vindelcastro of Mays Landing was charged with endangering the welfare of children along with DUI.
- August 5: Benjamin Andrews and Maya Mckinley of Egg Harbor Township were arrested on assault and firearm charges at a school. Deborah Foley of Southampton was charged with possession of a handgun.
- August 12: Jason Dunham of Philadelphia was arrested on weapons charges, including possession of a handgun, large-capacity magazine, and certain bullets. Kristin Devera of Egg Harbor Township was charged with DUI, assault by auto, and obstruction.
- August 15: Tracy Widecrantz of Egg Harbor Township was charged with CDS possession and distribution, and Hector Merinogarcia of Somers Point was arrested for DUI and assault by auto.
Police said these arrests reflect only part of ongoing enforcement efforts across the township.
