Wicomico County man cashes in $50K win on MONOPOLY scratch-off before retirement

Salisbury, MD – A routine ATM stop turned into a $50,000 retirement boost for a Wicomico County man who hit big on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off ticket while out shopping with his wife.

On August 17, the Parsonsburg resident and his wife were on their way to the Berlin Farmer’s Market when they stopped at the 7-Eleven on Beaver Run Drive in Salisbury to withdraw cash. While at the ATM, the man spotted a Maryland Lottery vending machine nearby and decided to buy a few scratch-offs — one of which was a $20 MONOPOLY™ X100 ticket.

After scratching the barcode and scanning it, the ticket displayed a message directing him to visit Lottery headquarters. He returned to the car, shared the news with his wife, and then revealed the rest of the ticket, uncovering a $50,000 prize beneath a matching number.

The couple continued their planned shopping trip with the winning ticket in hand.

The winner later confirmed that he is nearing retirement, and the $50,000 win will be added to his savings as he prepares for the next chapter.

The MONOPOLY™ X100 game launched in January as part of a Maryland Lottery series featuring multiple scratch-off options tied to the classic board game. The $20 ticket still has several top prizes remaining.
