Shots fired near Target in Gambrills parking lot as gunman flees in SUV

Gambrills, MD – A burst of gunfire sent shoppers scrambling outside a Target store in Gambrills Friday night after a masked suspect opened fire toward a group in a busy parking lot before fleeing in a waiting SUV.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:05 p.m. on August 15 in the 2300 block of Brandermill Boulevard. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and described a man dressed in all black who fired at a group of similarly dressed individuals before bolting from the scene in a black SUV driven by an accomplice.

When officers arrived, they found several spent shell casings and a live round on the ground. A nearby vehicle had been struck by a bullet, but no injuries were reported.
