Man killed in Germantown after being struck by car on Frederick Road

GERMANTOWN, MD – A pedestrian was killed early Wednesday when he was struck by a car on Frederick Road, shutting down traffic in both directions during the morning commute, police said.

Montgomery County police and emergency crews responded just after 7:30 a.m. to the area of Frederick and Ridge roads, where they found the man fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said a 2022 Toyota Corolla was heading south on Frederick Road when it hit the victim. The driver remained at the scene and spoke with officers.

Both directions of Route 355 were closed between Ridge Road and Henderson Corner Road while crash investigators worked the site. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
