Woman gunned down in Germantown spa bathroom as estranged husband surrenders to police days later

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A 48-year-old woman was shot multiple times and killed inside the bathroom of a Germantown Avenue spa Monday evening, and her estranged husband turned himself in nine days later to face murder charges.

Around 6:35 p.m. on Monday, officers from the 14th District were flagged down outside a Spa & Lounge near the 6300 block of Germantown Avenue after a witness reported hearing gunfire inside. Inside the bathroom, police found Rashida Irvin suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her torso. Medics arrived and pronounced her dead at 6:45 p.m.

Investigators quickly identified 55-year-old Kyle Irvin as the suspect in the deadly shooting. Just after midnight Wednesday, he surrendered at the 14th District headquarters. Authorities say he will be charged with murder and related offenses.
