Brick expands beach vehicle permits with new resident-first application rollout

Brick, NJ – Thursday — Brick Township is expanding its popular Beach Vehicle Permit program for the 2025–2026 season and rolling out a revised application process that gives local residents priority before opening submissions to the general public.

Beginning Wednesday, September 10, residents of Brick Township will have exclusive access to apply for one of the 200 beach vehicle permits, available through the Municipal Clerk’s Office and online. Applications from Brick residents will be accepted between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on that day only, with proof of residency required. Only complete applications will be considered.

Starting Thursday, September 11, applications will open to non-residents and be processed in the order they are received. Submissions can be made in person or by mail, and all entries will be date- and time-stamped for tracking.

The permit fee remains $35 and can be paid by cash, check, or credit card—though American Express is not accepted. A total of 200 permits will be issued this cycle.

To improve efficiency, vehicle inspections will be scheduled in 30-minute blocks based on the applicant’s preferred time slot, which must be selected when submitting the application. Applicants must bring all required documents and beach-driving equipment to the inspection; no photocopying will be offered at the site.

Once the inspection is complete, permits will be either mailed or made available for in-person pickup during the following week, depending on the applicant’s preference.
