Gaithersburg, MD – A 34-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning after being struck by a car while crossing Frederick Road in Germantown, according to Montgomery County Police.
The fatal incident occurred around 7:35 a.m. near the intersection of Frederick Road and Ridge Road. Investigators say Branden Corey Williams was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Frederick Road when he was hit by a black 2022 Toyota Corolla.
Williams was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. The driver of the vehicle remained at the location and is cooperating with authorities.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit are leading the investigation. The area remained closed for several hours Wednesday as police processed the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under review. Investigators have not yet said whether speed, visibility, or other factors played a role.
