Newark, NJ — Newark authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man seen on surveillance footage stealing a package from an apartment building earlier this month.
According to Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the theft occurred around 10:26 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, in the 300 block of 6th Avenue. The victim reported receiving a delivery notification, but when she returned home at approximately 7 p.m., the package—containing metal containers—was missing.

Surveillance video captured a Black male suspect entering the building, removing the package, and leaving the location. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, blue shorts, white and blue sneakers, and had dreadlocks.
The Newark Police Division is actively investigating and urging anyone who recognizes the individual to contact their 24-hour Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS. Tips may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward.
