Woman walks into hospital after overnight shooting in East Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — A 38-year-old woman showed up at a local hospital just after midnight Thursday with a gunshot wound, prompting an active shooting investigation by Eastern District detectives.

At approximately 12:24 a.m. on August 21, officers were called to the hospital after being notified of the walk-in victim. Medical personnel confirmed the woman was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police have not yet determined where the shooting occurred, and the circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear.
