Washington, DC — A man was shot just after 3 a.m. in the normally quiet Palisades neighborhood of northwest D.C., prompting a police search for three juveniles who fled the scene in a gray sedan.

The incident unfolded in the 3000 block of Chain Bridge Road NW, an affluent stretch near the Potomac River. First responders arrived quickly and transported the victim to a trauma center with injuries described as non-life-threatening. His identity has not been released.

The area, known for its multi-million-dollar homes and proximity to scenic parkland, rarely sees violent crime, making the shooting a jarring event for local residents.

Police canvassed the area overnight and into the morning, reviewing security footage from nearby homes and businesses in an attempt to track the fleeing car. No arrests had been made as of Thursday morning.

This is the latest of several recent incidents in the city involving armed juveniles and vehicle getaways, part of a growing trend of youth-involved violence that has drawn concern from law enforcement and community leaders.
