Bronx, NY — Police announced the arrest of a second suspect in connection with a 2024 Bronx assault that was later ruled a homicide after the victim died from complications.
On August 21, 2025, at 11 a.m., officers in the 52nd Precinct arrested 33-year-old Jose Guadalupe and charged him with murder. His arrest comes more than a year after the February 18, 2024 incident in which a 47-year-old man suffered a cardiac episode after being assaulted. The victim was taken to Montefiore Medical Center in critical condition and later died on May 5, 2024. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the death was a homicide.
This arrest follows that of 22-year-old Bryan Ciprian, who was taken into custody on August 7, 2024, and charged with murder and robbery in the same case. Ciprian, who police described as undomiciled at the time, was also charged within the 52nd Precinct.
The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to examine the events leading to the assault and subsequent death.
