Bronx teen charged in rape case as NYPD seeks second suspect in separate incident involving minor

BRONX, NY – An 18-year-old Bronx resident has been arrested and charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation, while police are also searching for another individual in a separate case involving a 15-year-old girl.

Zahir Goodman, of 2870 Marion Avenue, was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 20 at approximately 9:15 a.m. within the 41st Precinct. He is facing multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree sexual offense, two counts of sexual abuse, sexual misconduct, and harassment. The charges stem from an ongoing investigation led by the NYPD. No additional details surrounding the incident were made public.

In a separate case under investigation by the 42nd Precinct, police are asking for help identifying a male individual wanted for an alleged sexual assault that occurred on Sunday, August 10 at around 8:00 p.m. inside a residence in the vicinity of Prospect Avenue and East 170th Street.

Authorities said the male, who is not known to the public at this time, left the scene in an unknown direction. The 15-year-old girl involved in the incident was taken by private transportation to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where she was listed in stable condition.

The individual sought in the August 10 case is described as approximately 17 to 19 years old, with a dark complexion, slim build, and standing around 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light-colored shorts, white sneakers, and a white knit hat.

Both cases remain active, and police are continuing their investigations. The public is encouraged to contact the NYPD with any information.
